-Record labels are companies, large or small, that manufacture, distribute, and promote the recordings of affiliated musicians. Essentially, record labels work to sell the brand of the artist and the products they create.
Size
- Sony Music Group is a global company that has subsidiaries such as Sony music UK that specialise in Artists and content creators that are based in the UK
-Atlantic records focusses on representing more Jazz, RnB, and Hip-hop music, and is based in Atlanta. However, using subsidiaries all over America, they manage Artists from Cardi-B (Atlantic Records), Lil Uzi Vert (Generation Now/Atlantic), Jay- Z (Rock Nation, Atlantic)
-UMG ,founded in 1996 in the USA, it is the worlds biggest music rights company and operates in 63 countries around the world managing artist from all over the globe
Job roles in those companies
.Music Producers, These guys produce the music that the artist would sing on, they provide music for the artists and can also use social media to become more of a personality and promote artists or their own music. consider learning about foundational audio and music concepts, start studying various types of software, and dive into what makes a good sound. To be a truly great producer, you’ll need to acquire knowledge in engineering and mixing.
Pay/ Depending on the artists you work with the payment can vary a lot from £25,000 to £1,000,000
.Music artists, They would usually record the music, go to the live shows and also promote their personality and music via social media as it is a powerful to communicate with fans, and to understand what drives them and makes them happy, social media is a vital way for the artist to stay current and keep their feet on the ground.

.Music Publicists. Artists songs wont simply appear on Spotify or other streaming services, This job role allows the artists music to be played on mainstream platforms. It’s also your job to ensure the metadata of each track is complete, and that you own the rights or a license for anything that’s been sampled in the music you’re putting out.
Pay/ £500 to £10,000 per month
.Artists management, An artist manager exists to create opportunities, connect, and propel the musical act forward in the music business. Management and leadership skills are key here. Not only will you be streamlining and organizing multiple moving parts between musicians, publishers, and booking agents but you’ll also be making sales calls, negotiating contracts, and giving constructive criticism.
Pay/In the music industry you payment can vary depending on the popularity of the artist you work with, However Managers usually take between 10, to 50 percent of the artists earnings.
.Tour management/ Booking agent, Usually these will be hired out by the record label and will arrange tours and venue, Plus ensuring that they run smoothly throughout
Pay/ This may depend on the popularity of your artist, however you also get commission
.Recording Engineer. An engineer regularly captures sound and manipulates it after the artists has recorded it, Become well-versed in multiple recording technologies and develop file management skills. Some jobs in sound engineering may require additional training in mixing and editing. You’ll also need to know how to solve problems, run recording sessions and take initiative.
Pay/ again depending on the artists you are working with your payment may differ anything from £25,000 and £200,000
